Whisper Visits Goddard School! Whisper takes his little girl to a show-and-tell at the Goddard School. He gets his little girl to tell the other little boys and girls all about Great Pyrenees, about Great Pyrenees rescue, and all about how he adopted his own human little girl and her family. He talks about how happy he is now because his life, and others like him, does not always start off bright and happy. He talks about how small he was when he was born and what a cute fluffy boy he was. Whisper also talks about how he just kept growing and growing and growing when many other little dogs around him stayed about his size when he was only a few months old. "But not me," said Whisper. Whisper also talked about how big he is in size but his heart is even bigger, especially with his little girl. Whisper wants everybody to know that HIS little girl is the one in the pink top and he thinks she's the sweetest and prettiest little girl in the whole world.

Chipper was adopted by his foster family. He won their hearts immediately and they won his, too. Chipper did not have such a good life before his current family. He was overweight, needed grooming terribly as his hair was so long and matted, he was panting heavily with the weight. He greets each family member as they come home and he loves his mother-in-law, too, who lives next door. Chipper lives on a beautiful farm and has room quarters you and I would be happy to live in. Chipper is 5 years old and deserves the beautiful family he now has. Click on pictures for larger view!

Whisper. Love at first site - a dream come true! Whisper found his new family at the Animal Rescue Fair in Alpharetta today! Mom saw Whisper and was immediately drawn to him. Whisper seemed to have drawn the family to him. His eyes just seemed to light up everytime they were around. The family talked about the home environment with lots of horses and other dogs and animals. Dad wasn't quite sure in the beginning if another pet companion was really "needed" but it did not take long for that knowing expression, only on a Dad's face, that wrote "I concede" to Mom, Daughter, and Whisper.
Rescue is oftentimes such heartbreaking and exhausting efforts. When you see such a beautiful placement as this, which is SO obvious in the pictures the family sent from Whisper's new home, gives new energy and vigor toward these efforts. You just cannot help but have a full heart when looking at Whisper's new home with his new little girl human companion, Dad, and Whisper's new doggie siblings. Mom is taking the pictures so we hope to add new pics with her in it, too.

The newest picture is first on left. Whisper's Mom had to get him a new collar to accommodate his much needed weight gain ! Just look at the contentment on Whisper's face!

Maximus. A most incredible journey for this young boy. Yet, Maximus decided to adopt his sweet and wonderful foster family. This is such a perfect match made in heaven. Max has seen pain and fear in his previous life but nevermore. He has made such tremendous physical progress with his current foster family that is truly remarkable beyond words. More current pictures are coming soon that are unbelievably precious so stop by frequently to see the updates. Max will continue require physical therapy for awhile. Once his weight, muscle mass, and strength develops, it will be determined for certain whether additional surgery on his right knee will be required.

Max has had some generous contributors to help him get to where he is today. Without the benefactors, these efforts would not be possible. We are greatful to you. These pics are truly AWESOME! From the last veterinary appointment, my vet said Max's progress since his last visit has been truly remarkable. More so than any other time. The adopting family had fostered Max, provided him with physical therapy, good diet, and loads of love. Max looks SO happy with his newly adopted Dad, too. This is incredibly heartwarming as Max is very shy of men.

PiJoe. PiJoe has found just the best forever home. He and Fluffy, his new brother, hit it off right away. They are great buddies, have eating-time competitions...that means when the food is put out, they both enjoy it so much, it's like watching an eating contest to see who can finish first! Way too cute. PiJoe's new Mom adores him so much, as she does her Fluffy. The other day, new Mom told me that she woke up, and there were two big white fluffy heads staring her in the face. :> This is just too great!

Babe found the most perfect home. She adopted a fantastic family who are also heavily involved with canine rescue efforts. Babe is an absolute beauty, sweet, and gentle. Babe, along with her new forever home, offers support for new rescue Pyrs and other dogs coming into rescue.

Beau and his adopted family. An incredible example of FATE! Beau's Foster Dad, who was referred to Rest My Paws by the North Florida Great Pyrenees rescue group, picked him up on a Friday. We all met Bubba, 9-year old Pyr, and Peanut, 5-month of female Pyr. Beau and Peanut hit it off immediately, began frolicking, scurrying about, chasing each other, both with huge smiles on their faces. Bubba's reaction was one of grand calm with an air of maturity and wisdom. They all loaded up and secured in Foster Day's jeep, driving away like a big cloud of Pyr bodies waving in the wind. Foster Dad phoned late Saturday night, just the following night to say he wanted to adopt Beau. Bubba left for the Rainbow Bridge earlier Saturday, quietly, quickly, and peacefully to wait for his family's homecoming some day. We believe it to be fate and Bubba was assured Peanut and his Foster Dad had a full family.

Iris - Adopted! Iris found a lovely lady for her Forever Home. Iris' new Mom is camera-shy.

Henry and his adopted family. Too perfect! This couple came from northwest Georgia to take this pistol-of-a-St.Bernard mix back home to lots of acreage, fenced, goats, Tenn. Walking Horse, cats and cats and cats, and parrots. They had researched for a large breed dog and when they saw Henry's picture, just knew he was just the character for them. This family and Henry just seemed like they belonged together from the start.

Sam is ADOPTED A beautiful match although his new family in Lexington, SC is camera shy. Sam has a sister-Pyr-buddy, named Sheba.

Angel and Alex. Which one is which? A dream come true. Angel, a Pyrangel whom I fostered, found a wonderful loving home with a little girl name Alex to raise.

Gabriel.  This sweet little fellow was shy. Over a few weeks, we brought his weight up some before he became available for adoption. He has found the MOST perfect and sweet new Mom and has a wonderful forever home. First picture on left is "before." Second picture is new Mom Betty day of adoption.
